Clinton Erasmus was born on a farm near Piketberg and later moved with his parents to Knolfontein, a farm in the Riebeek Valley where he still resides. He attended Weltevrede farm school and later Smuts Malan School in Riebeek West.

Clinton began making wire cars at an early age, initially as a way to entertain himself. Over time, as interest in his creations grew, he started selling them to help make ends meet.

His work displays impressive creativity, a sense of endearing innocence, and a strong spirit of innovation. Clinton often incorporates found and up-cycled materials into his pieces, transforming them into detailed wire cars, minibuses, or tractors.

While fully functional as toys, his creations are much more than that – they are vibrant works of art. His playful interpretations of everyday vehicles are brought to life through quirky design and character. Some pieces are painted in vivid colours, making them striking and bold, while the unpainted wire cars have a delicate, sketch-like quality, resembling ink drawings on a white canvas.
